Alpacas, which came from the high Andes, are easy keepers, since they eat a small amount of hay and pellets & do well on a small acreage. |
 |
Alpacas have gentle dispositions, soft feet and no upper teeth, so are safe for people of all ages and give you a relaxed life style. |
 |
Breeding alpacas are in demand and make a superior financial investment or a stable retirement investment. |
 |
Luxurious alpaca fleece, in 23 natural colors, is sheared once a year and is purchased by the ounce by fiber mills and handspinners, or working with your own alpaca fleece can be a new hobby as part this relaxed, active lifestyle with alpacas. |
 |
Intelligent, with lots of personality, alpacas are easy to love, especially the precious crias which are born after a gestation of 11 months. These animals can give you a healthy, country lifestyle…the kind you’ve been dreaming of. |
ALPACAS AS AN INVESTMENT
As a Home-Based Business or an Encore Career, Your Alpaca Investment Works for You...

TAX ADVANTAGES TO RAISING ALPACAS
- Any farm operating costs are deductible: barn, fencing, feed, breeding fees, vet costs.
- Depreciate your purchase price of the alpaca over five years for a breeding alpaca and 7 years for a fiber animal.
- Another option is that the purchase price of an alpaca may be deducted from earned income in the year the animal is purchased. This is called a Section 179 Deduction. There are ceiling limits which vary.
An IRS Farmer’s Tax Guide # 225 (forms and Publications
